About Espion

Espion – Visual Search Technology
In both the commercial and scientific fields, applications make more and more routine use of images and video. These image and video collections – commonly referred to as digital assets – are growing quickly and soon become difficult to manage. The implementation of effective digital asset management systems have allowed users to manage and exploit their assets. Despite the advances in storage of digital assets and the deployment of powerful text based search and retrieval technologies, effective image retrieval is not keeping pace with image and video production. While it is generally possible to retrieve images using text searches it sometimes is difficult to annotate an asset so that it can be retrieved using text search technologies. And in many production situations assets are simply not annoted effectively to allow for even the simplest text searches. That's when visual search is more practical: when the assets you are searching for have not been tagged, annotated or classified, when the assets are difficult to classify.

Espion is a robust, innovative and extremely fast image comparison application that allows users to perform visual searches for images. Espion takes an original image and compares it against others to find copies, altered or similar versions. The application displays pairs of matched images and details the likelihood of the match as well as the degree of differences between the original image and an image in question.

Espion Highlights

– Espion performs visual searches which allow users to find duplicate, altered or simply visually similar images.
– Espion is an advanced application integrating a number of proprietary algorithms used to analyze, index and retrieve images.
– Espion allows users to clean up their asset collections by identifying duplicates and allow the user to archive them or remove them from the collections.
– Espion comparison algorithms search based on colour composition, spatial distribution, object shape, texture and other visual attributes and characteristics.
