Idée and Fotoware Announce Strategic Partnership to Integrate Idée's Visual Search Technologies

Toronto, January 8, 2001 – Idée, developer of innovative visual search solutions announced today a strategic partnership with FotoWare a leader in digital asset management systems. The strategic partnership will allow FotoWare users to perform visual searches within their digital image catalogues. The partnership provides FotoWare users with a seamless visual search feature and adds significant value to the FotoWare product family.

To date digital asset searching has relied on metadata and image annotations. Espion will extend the search functionality in FotoWare applications by allowing users to also search for images by image attributes.

Espion fully integrated with the FotoWare Suite of Applications will allow a single click access to visual search functionalities. Espion users will be able to search for images by image attributes such as colour, shape, contrast, composition amongst many other attributes and retrieve similar or duplicate images.
