You are a client and you have millions of images that you license daily to major newspapers and magazines. Your users download (or you push to them) hundreds if not thousands of images daily. You receive images directly from your photographers – they are not your photographers per say but they license their images through your agency – Daily you need to know where your images are being used. Why? Because you need to turn around and bill your “downloaders”, you need to know exactly which image has been used and how it has been used (since size and position determine license fee). You need to know because you need to also compensate your photographers: after all you are licensing their images and their revenue is on the line.

How does the technology work?

You provide us with a copy of your image collection or daily image production and we analyze the images to create a highly detailed fingerprint of each and every one of your images. We use PixID our recognition-based image tracking technology to compare each digital fingerprint to hundreds of millions of web and print images. PixID does not use watermarks so there is no additional data to add to an image and nothing to be removed to prevent detection. PixID can identify images that have been radically cropped, rotated, obscured with text and other images, colour changed or flipped.
