Judy Blumstock
Principal, Genesys Capital Partners
Judy’s background combines a decade of experience in life science and biotechnology investing, as well as operational and high tech experience. Prior to joining Genesys Capital Partners, Judy was a partner with Royal Bank Capital Partners Life Sciences Fund, where she was responsible for making investments and overseeing existing portfolio companies in Ontario and the United States. In 2001, she led the fund in its first direct US investment.
Before her tenure with Royal Bank, Judy was Director of Bio/pharmaceutical Research at Drug Royalty Corporation, Inc., a public, Toronto-based company which makes investments in pharmaceutical assets in exchange for royalties. Her role involved carrying out research and ultimately formulating valuation models for many of the assets purchased by the company. She also worked with other members of the management team on the company's capital formation strategy and was active in working on the company’s initial public offering and subsequent secondary financings. Judy also spent a year in Boston with Medical Science Partners, where she oversaw due diligence on a variety of projects.
Before that, Judy worked at the software firms Algorithmics, Inc. and Oracle Corporation, Inc., in financial positions.
Judy received an MBA in finance in 1985 from Columbia University's School of Business, and has a BSc in biology from the University of Toronto.
